بَابُ مَا لَا زَكَاةَ فِيهِ مِنَ الْحُلِيِّ وَالتِّبْرِ وَالْعَنْبَرِNo zakat on jewelry, nuggets, and amber
Hadith 660
حَدَّثَنِي حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مَالِك ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَتْ تَلِي بَنَاتَ أَخِيهَا يَتَامَى فِي حَجْرِهَا لَهُنَّ الْحَلْيُ ، فَلَا تُخْرِجُ مِنْ حُلِيِّهِنَّ الزَّكَاةَ "
It is narrated from Qasim bin Muhammad that Umm al-Mu'mineen Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) used to raise the orphan daughters of her brother Muhammad bin Abi Bakr, and they had jewelry, but she did not take out zakat from it.
