It reached Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Remain steadfast on the straight path, and you will not be able to count its reward, or you will not have the strength for steadfastness. And among all deeds, the best for you is prayer, and none will maintain ablution except a believer."

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abu Samee'ah
Benefit: That is, your effort should be that the full right of steadfastness and remaining firm upon the straight path is fulfilled, just as the Divine command is: «اتَّقُوااللهَحَقَّتُقَاتِهِ»[آل عمران 3: 102] “Fear Allah as He should truly be feared.” However, since all of us humans are filled with shortcomings and worldly entanglements and attractions constantly become obstacles for us, it has also been stated: «فاتقوا الله ما اسْتَطَعْتُمْ»[التغابن 16: 64] “Fear Allah as much as you are able.” It is also established that performing ablution (wudu) with care and caution is a sign of faith, and whoever is negligent in this, there is a deficiency in his faith.
