بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي صِيَامِ الَّذِي يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا فِي رَمَضَانَWhat is reported about fasting for one who wakes up in a state of janabah in Ramadan
Hadith 586
حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مَالِك ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَعْمَرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي يُونُسَ مَوْلَى عَائِشَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ وَاقِفٌ عَلَى الْبَاب ، وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي أُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا وَأَنَا أُرِيدُ الصِّيَامَ ، فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَأَنَا أُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا وَأَنَا أُرِيدُ الصِّيَامَ فَأَغْتَسِلُ وَأَصُومُ " ، فَقَالَ لَهُ الرَّجُلُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّكَ لَسْتَ مِثْلَنَا قَدْ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَكَ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِكَ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ ، فَغَضِبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ : " وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ أَكُونَ أَخْشَاكُمْ لِلَّهِ وَأَعْلَمَكُمْ بِمَا أَتَّقِي "
Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that a man spoke to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was standing at the door and I was listening: “O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Morning comes and I am in a state of major impurity (junub) with the intention of fasting.” So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “I also become junub and morning comes while I have the intention of fasting, so I perform ghusl and keep the fast.” That man said: “O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! What about you, you are not like us; Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, has forgiven all your past and future sins.” So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) became angry. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “I hope that I am the most God-fearing among you and the most knowledgeable of you regarding matters of piety.”
