بَابُ جَامِعِ الْجَنَائِزِComprehensive Chapter on Funerals
Hadith 568
وَحَدَّثَنِي ، عَنْ مَالِك ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ كَعْبَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ كَانَ يُحَدِّثُ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّمَا نَسَمَةُ الْمُؤْمِنِ طَيْرٌ يَعْلَقُ فِي شَجَرِ الْجَنَّةِ حَتَّى يُرْجِعَهُ اللَّهُ إِلَى جَسَدِهِ يَوْمَ يَبْعَثُهُ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The soul of the believer becomes in the form of a bird and hangs from a tree of Paradise until Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, returns it to its body on the day He will resurrect it."
