Hadith 46
اُردوEn
وَحَدَّثَنِي ، عَنْ وَحَدَّثَنِي ، عَنْ مَالِك ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ " حَنَّطَ ابْنًا لِسَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ وَحَمَلَهُ ، ثُمَّ دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ فَصَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ " . ¤ قَالَ يَحْيَى : وَسُئِلَ مَالِك ، هَلْ فِي الْقَيْءِ وُضُوءٌ ؟ قَالَ : لَا ، وَلَكِنْ لِيَتَمَضْمَضْ مِنْ ذَلِكَ وَلْيَغْسِلْ فَاهُ وَلَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ وُضُوءٌ
It is narrated from Hazrat Nafi that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) applied perfume to the child of Sayyiduna Saeed bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him), who was deceased, and lifted him, then came to the mosque and offered prayer and did not perform ablution.
Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked whether ablution is required after vomiting or not. He said: Ablution is not required, but he should rinse his mouth and wash his face.

It is understood that the narration reported from Abu Hurairah radi Allahu anhu:
«مَنْ غَسَّلَ مَيْتًا فَلْيَغْتَسِلْ وَمَنْ حَمَلَهُ فَلْيَتَوَضًا»
“Whoever gives the deceased a ritual bath (ghusl) should perform a ritual bath (ghusl), and whoever carries him should perform ablution (wudu).”
[ترمذي: 993، اس كي سند حسن يا صحيح هے]
The ruling mentioned in this narration is merely for recommendation (istihbab); this ritual bath and ablution are recommended (mustahabb), not obligatory (wajib).
