Hadith 447

It is narrated from Sayyida Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) that I came to Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) at the time when the sun was eclipsed, and I saw people performing prayer and Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) was also standing and praying. So I asked: What has happened to the people? Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) gestured with her hand towards the sky and said, "Subhan Allah." I asked: Is there a sign? She gestured: Yes. Sayyida Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) said: So I stood until I began to faint and started pouring water over my head. And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) praised Allah and glorified Him, then said: "Today I have seen what I had never seen before at this place, to the extent that I saw Paradise and Hell, and it has been revealed to me that you will be tested in your graves, like the trial of Dajjal or close to it." It is not known what Sayyida Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "Angels will come to him and ask: What do you think of this man (meaning Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him)? So the one who has faith or certainty," it is not known what Sayyida Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "he will say: This is Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), Allah the Majestic and Glorious sent him to us with clear signs and guidance, that is, the Word of Allah. So we accepted, believed, and followed him." Then the angels will say to him: Sleep well, we already knew that you were a believer. And as for the hypocrite or the one who is in doubt about the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)," it is not known what Sayyida Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "he will say: I do not know, I said what I heard people say."
