Hadith 433

وَحَدَّثَنِي ، عَنْ مَالِك ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ ، " أَنَّ النَّاسَ كَانُوا يُؤْمَرُونَ بِالْأَكْلِ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ قَبْلَ الْغُدُوِّ " . ¤قَالَ مَالِك : وَلَا أَرَى ذَلِكَ عَلَى النَّاسِ فِي الْأَضْحَى
It is narrated from Sayyid ibn al-Musayyib that people were instructed to eat food before going to the prayer.
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said that I do not consider it necessary to eat food before the prayer on Eid al-Adha.
