It is narrated from Hazrat Wasi’ bin Hibban that I was performing prayer and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) was sitting with his back towards the Qiblah. When I finished the prayer, I turned to him from the left side. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Why did you not turn from the right side? I said: Seeing you, I turned and went from the left side. Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: You did well. A certain person says that when you have finished the prayer, turn from the right side, but when you have performed the prayer, turn and go from whichever side you wish, from the right or from the left.
