Hadith 38

Hazrat Zaid bin Aslam said that what Allah, Glorious and Exalted, has said: "When you rise for prayer, then wash your face, and your hands up to the elbows, and wipe your heads, and wash your feet up to the ankles." The purpose of this is that when you rise for prayer after sleeping.
Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) said: In our view, nosebleed, blood flowing, or pus oozing does not necessitate ablution; rather, one should not perform ablution except due to impurity that comes out from the anus or the penis, or if one sleeps.

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abu Samee'ah
Benefit:

.... Just as the ablution (wudu) is nullified by the emission of urine or feces, madhiy (pre-seminal fluid), wadi (post-urination fluid), wind, or blood from either of the two private parts, and by sleep, likewise, those things which make ritual bath (ghusl) obligatory—such as sexual intercourse and nocturnal emission (ihtilam), etc.—also nullify ablution. Furthermore, eating camel meat and touching any private part with the hand also nullify ablution.

Ablution is not nullified merely by doubt, by eating or drinking something cooked on fire, by laughter (during prayer), by the trousers falling below the ankles, or by the commission of any sin.

There is a hadith that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam saw a man praying with a cloth hanging down and ordered him to perform ablution. [

Hafiz Zubair Ali Zai has declared the chain of this hadith to be hasan (good). From this, it is understood that one who lets his lower garment hang below the ankles (musbil-e-izar) must repeat his ablution and prayer.
