بَابُ انْتِظَارِ الصَّلَاةِ وَالْمَشْيِ إِلَيْهَاChapter on Waiting for Prayer and Walking to It
Hadith 385
وَحَدَّثَنِي ، عَنْ مَالِك ، عَنْ نُعَيْمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُجْمِرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : " إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ ثُمَّ جَلَسَ فِي مُصَلَّاهُ ، لَمْ تَزَلِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ تُصَلِّي عَلَيْهِ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْهُ ، فَإِنْ قَامَ مِنْ مُصَلَّاهُ فَجَلَسَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلَاةَ لَمْ يَزَلْ فِي صَلَاةٍ حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَ "
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say: Whoever among you offers prayer and then remains seated in that place, the angels pray for him: "O Allah! Forgive him, have mercy on him." If he stands up from that place but remains seated in the mosque waiting for the prayer, then it is as if he is in prayer as long as he waits for the prayer.
