It is narrated from Sayyida Umm Hani (may Allah be pleased with her) that I went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in the year Makkah was conquered, and I found him performing ghusl (ritual bath), and Sayyida Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), his daughter, was screening him with a cloth. Sayyida Umm Hani (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I greeted him with salam, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Who is it?" I said: Umm Hani, daughter of Abu Talib. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Welcome to Umm Hani." Then when he (peace and blessings be upon him) finished his ghusl, he stood and prayed eight rak‘ahs wearing a single garment. When he finished the prayer, I said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! My brother, Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), says he will kill the person whom you have granted protection to; that person is so-and-so, the son of Hubayrah. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "We have granted protection to the one whom you have granted protection, O Umm Hani!" Sayyida Umm Hani (may Allah be pleased with her) said: At that time, it was the time of Duha (forenoon).
