وَحَدَّثَنِي ، عَنْ وَحَدَّثَنِي ، عَنْ مَالِك ، أَنَّهُ بَلَغَهُ ، أَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ، وَعَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، كَانَا يَقُولَانِ : " الصَّلَاةُ الْوُسْطَى صَلَاةُ الصُّبْحِ " . ¤ قَالَ مَالِك : وَقَوْلُ عَلِيٍّ ، وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَحَبُّ مَا سَمِعْتُ إِلَيَّ فِي ذَلِكَ
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, was informed that Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them, both used to say that the middle prayer (Salat al-Wusta) is the Fajr prayer.
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said that among all the narrations, the statement of Sayyiduna Ali and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them, is the one I prefer most.
