It is narrated from Yahya ibn Sa'id that Sayyiduna 'Ubada ibn as-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) used to lead a people in prayer. One day he went out for the Fajr prayer and the mu'adhdhin pronounced the takbir. Then Sayyiduna 'Ubada ibn as-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) silenced the mu'adhdhin until he had performed the witr prayer, then he led the Fajr prayer.
