It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I went to Mount Tur and met Ka'b al-Ahbar there, and I sat with him. Ka'b al-Ahbar related to me matters from the Torah, and I related to him matters from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Among the things I told him was that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best day upon which the sun rises is Friday. On this day Adam (peace be upon him) was created, on this day he was sent down from Paradise, on this day his sin was forgiven, and on this day the Hour will be established. There is no living being except that on Friday, until the sun rises, it listens in fear of the Hour, except for the jinn and mankind who remain heedless. And on Friday there is an hour in which no Muslim servant stands in prayer and asks Allah for something except that Allah, Glorified and Exalted, grants it to him." Ka'b al-Ahbar said: This occurs only once a year. I said: No! Rather, it is every Friday. So Ka'b read the Torah and then said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has spoken the truth.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Then I met Basrah bin Abi Basrah Ghifari, and he said: Where are you coming from? I said: From Mount Tur. He said: If you had met me before going to Tur, you would not have gone. I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Camels should not be saddled except for three mosques: Masjid al-Haram, my mosque (i.e., the Prophet's Mosque), and Masjid Ilya or Masjid Bayt al-Maqdis." (The narrator is in doubt.) Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Then I met Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Salam (may Allah be pleased with him) and I related to him the conversation I had with Ka'b al-Ahbar about Friday, and I said that Ka'b al-Ahbar said that this day occurs only once a year. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Salam (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Ka'b has lied. Then I said: Ka'b read the Torah and said that indeed this blessing occurs every Friday. Then Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Salam (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Ka'b has spoken the truth. Then Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Salam (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I know which hour it is. Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Tell me and do not withhold. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Salam (may Allah be pleased with him) said: It is the last hour of Friday. Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: How can it be the last hour? For the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No Muslim servant finds it while in prayer and asks Allah for something except that Allah, Glorified and Exalted, grants it to him." And this hour is such that prayer cannot be performed in it. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Salam (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: Did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) not say: "Whoever sits waiting for the prayer is in prayer until he prays"? Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Yes! Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Salam (may Allah be pleased with him) said: That is the meaning.
