Hadith 235

It is narrated from Ibn Shihab, he used to say that whoever catches one rak'ah of the Friday prayer should perform one more rak'ah; this is the Sunnah.
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said: We found the scholars of our city upon this statement, and the evidence for this is that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever catches a rak'ah of the prayer has caught that prayer."
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said: If there is a crowd of people on Friday and a person is able to perform ruku but cannot perform sajdah until the imam rises from sajdah or completes his prayer, then if that person performs sajdah when the people rise from sajdah, then so be it. Otherwise, if he is unable to perform sajdah until the people have finished the prayer, then he should perform four rak'ahs of Zuhr anew.
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said: If a person’s nose starts to bleed on Friday while the imam is delivering the sermon and he goes outside, then when the imam finishes the prayer and he returns, he should pray four rak‘ahs of Zuhr.
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said: Whoever prayed one rak'ah of Jumu'ah with the imam, then blood started to flow from his nose so he went outside, and when the imam had completed both rak'ahs he returned, then he should pray one rak'ah if he has not spoken.
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said: If a person’s nose starts to bleed or any other such matter occurs that necessitates leaving, then it is not necessary to seek permission from the imam.
