بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي الْإِنْصَاتِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَالْإِمَامُ يَخْطُبُChapter on what is reported regarding listening on Friday while the imam is preaching
Hadith 229
حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مَالِك ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا قُلْتَ لِصَاحِبِكَ : أَنْصِتْ وَالْإِمَامُ يَخْطُبُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ ، فَقَدْ لَغَوْتَ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When the Imam is delivering the sermon, if you say to your companion, 'Be quiet,' then you have also engaged in idle talk."
