It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever comes for Jumu'ah should come after performing ghusl, or whoever intends to perform the Jumu'ah prayer should perform ghusl."
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said: Whoever performs ghusl on the day of Jumu'ah, whether early or late, and intends the ghusl of Jumu'ah, then his wudu' breaks, he should perform wudu', and the ghusl will suffice for him.
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said that if a person performs ghusl (ritual bath) on the morning of Friday and intends it as the ghusl of Jumu'ah, then this ghusl will not suffice until he performs ghusl at the time of going to the prayer, because in the hadith of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, it is mentioned that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When any of you intends to go to the Jumu'ah prayer, he should perform ghusl."
