Hadith 19
اُردوEn
وَحَدَّثَنِي ، عَنْ وَحَدَّثَنِي ، عَنْ مَالِك ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي مُخْبِرٌ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، كَانَ يَقُولُ : " دُلُوكُ الشَّمْسِ ، إِذَا فَاءَ الْفَيْءُ وَغَسَقُ اللَّيْلِ اجْتِمَاعُ اللَّيْلِ وَظُلْمَتُهُ "
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to say that «دلوك الشمّس» is when the shadow turns from the west to the east, and «غسق الليل» is the passing of the night and its darkness.

Benefit:
When the sun rises, the shadow of everything is cast in the direction opposite to the sun, that is, towards the west, which gradually decreases. And when the sun passes overhead and begins to decline towards the west, the shadow returns towards the east.
