Whenever Amir bin Abdullah bin Zubair heard the sound of thunder, he would stop speaking and say: "Glory be to the One whose purity is proclaimed by the thunder (it is an angel appointed over the clouds, its voice is what is heard as thunder), and the angels proclaim His purity out of fear of Him." Then he would say: "This sound is a severe warning for the inhabitants of the earth."
