Hazrat Saibah, who is the freed slave woman of Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade killing the snakes that are in the house, except for the one with two stripes and the short-tailed one, for they cause blindness and miscarriage.
