بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي النَّرْدِWhat is Reported Regarding Backgammon
Hadith 1747
حَدَّثَنِي، عَنْ مَالِك، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ لَعِبَ بِالنَّرْدِ فَقَدْ عَصَى اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever plays backgammon (or chess), then he has disobeyed Allah and His Messenger."
