Hadith 1726

وَحَدَّثَنِي، عَنْ مَالِك، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يَقُولُ : " سَدَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَاصِيَتَهُ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ، ثُمَّ فَرَقَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ " .
It is narrated from Ibn Shihab that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to let his hair hang down towards his forehead for a period of time, then after that he began to part it.
قَالَ مَالِك : لَيْسَ عَلَى الرَّجُلِ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى شَعَرِ امْرَأَةِ ابْنِهِ أَوْ شَعَرِ أُمِّ امْرَأَتِهِ بَأْسٌ
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said that there is nothing objectionable in looking at the hair of one's daughter-in-law or mother-in-law.
