It is narrated from Hazrat Nafi that when Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to pray alone, he would recite Surah Al-Fatihah and one Surah in each of the four rak'ahs, and sometimes he would recite two or three Surahs in a single rak'ah in the obligatory prayer, and in the Maghrib prayer he would recite Al-Fatihah and a Surah in two rak'ahs.
