بَابُ الْغَسْلِ بِالْمَاءِ مِنَ الْحُمَّىWashing with Water from Fever
Hadith 1719
حَدَّثَنِي، عَنْ مَالِك، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ ، أَنَّ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ كَانَتْ إِذَا أُتِيَتْ بِالْمَرْأَةِ وَقَدْ حُمَّتْ تَدْعُو لَهَا، أَخَذَتِ الْمَاءَ فَصَبَّتْهُ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ جَيْبِهَا، وَقَالَتْ : " إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَأْمُرُنَا أَنْ نُبْرِدَهَا بِالْمَاءِ "
It is narrated from Fatimah bint Mundhir that when a woman suffering from fever would come to Lady Asma bint Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her), she would ask for water and pour it into her collar, and would say that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to command to cool down fever with water.
