بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي أَجْرِ الْمَرِيضِWhat is Reported Regarding the Reward of the Sick
Hadith 1709
حَدَّثَنِي، عَنْ حَدَّثَنِي، عَنْ مَالِك، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : إِذَا مَرِضَ الْعَبْدُ بَعَثَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى إِلَيْهِ مَلَكَيْنِ، فَقَالَ : " انْظُرَا مَاذَا يَقُولُ لِعُوَّادِهِ ؟ " فَإِنْ هُوَ إِذَا جَاءُوهُ حَمِدَ اللَّهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ، رَفَعَا ذَلِكَ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ، فَيَقُولُ : " لِعَبْدِي عَلَيَّ إِنْ تَوَفَّيْتُهُ أَنْ أُدْخِلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ، وَإِنْ أَنَا شَفَيْتُهُ أَنْ أُبْدِلَ لَهُ لَحْمًا خَيْرًا مِنْ لَحْمِهِ وَدَمًا خَيْرًا مِنْ دَمِهِ، وَأَنْ أُكَفِّرَ عَنْهُ سَيِّئَاتِهِ "
It is narrated from Hazrat Ata bin Yasar that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When a servant becomes ill, Allah Almighty sends two angels to him and says: 'Keep watching what he says to those who come to visit him.' If he praises and glorifies Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, before them, then both angels ascend to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, and although He knows best, He asks, and then says: 'If I cause My servant to die, I will admit him to Paradise, and if I grant him recovery, I will grant him more flesh and blood than before, and I will forgive his sins.'"
