It is narrated from Abdur Rahman bin Ya’qub, he says: I asked Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) about the state of the izar (lower garment). He said: I know, I will tell you. I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: “The izar of a believer should be up to the middle of the shins; but if he keeps it up to the ankles, there is no harm in it. What is below that is a matter of going to Hell, what is below that is a matter of going to Hell. Allah will not look at the person on the Day of Resurrection who lets his izar hang down out of pride and arrogance.”
