It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, when Uhud mountain appeared before him: "This is the mountain that loves us and we love it. O my Lord! Ibrahim (peace be upon him) declared Makkah sacred (i.e., he made hunting, fighting, and uprooting trees or grass there forbidden), and I declare sacred the area between the two boundaries of Madinah."
