بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي سُكْنَى الْمَدِينَةِ وَالْخُرُوجِ مِنْهَاChapter on what is reported regarding living in Madinah and leaving it
Hadith 1601
وَحَدَّثَنِي مَالِك أَنَّهُ بَلَغَهُ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ حِينَ خَرَجَ مِنْ الْمَدِينَةِ الْتَفَتَ إِلَيْهَا فَبَكَى، ثُمَّ قَالَ : يَا مُزَاحِمُ " أَتَخْشَى أَنْ نَكُونَ مِمَّنْ نَفَتْ الْمَدِينَةُ "
When Umar bin Abdul Aziz departed from Madinah, he looked towards Madinah and wept, and said to his servant Muzahim: Perhaps you and we are among those whom Madinah has expelled.
