بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي قَطْعِ الْآبِقِ وَالسَّارِقِChapter on what is reported regarding amputation of runaway and thieving slaves
Hadith 1569
وَحَدَّثَنِي، عَنْ مَالِك أَنَّهُ بَلَغَهُ، أَنَّ الْقَاسِمَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَسَالِمَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، وَعُرْوَةَ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ، كَانُوا يَقُولُونَ : " إِذَا سَرَقَ الْعَبْدُ الْآبِقُ مَا يَجِبُ فِيهِ الْقَطْعُ، قُطِعَ " .
Hazrat Qasim bin Muhammad, Salim bin Abdullah, and Urwah bin Zubair used to say: When a runaway slave steals to the extent for which the hand is to be cut off, then his hand will be cut off.
