بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي الرَّجْمِChapter on what is reported regarding stoning (rajm)
Hadith 1543
حَدَّثَنِي مَالِك، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا اعْتَرَفَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ بِالزِّنَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَشَهِدَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ أَرْبَعَ مَرَّاتٍ، " فَأَمَرَ بِهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَرُجِمَ " . قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ : فَمِنْ أَجْلِ ذَلِكَ يُؤْخَذُ الرَّجُلُ بِاعْتِرَافِهِ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ
Ibn Shihab used to say that a man confessed to adultery during the time of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and he confessed four times, so the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, ordered that he be stoned, and he was stoned. Ibn Shihab said that for this reason, a person is held accountable for what he confesses upon himself.
