بَابُ جَامِعِ الْعَقْلِComprehensive Chapter on Compensation
Hadith 1531
حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِك، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، وَأَبِي سَلَمَةَ ابْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " جَرْحُ الْعَجْمَاءِ جُبَارٌ، وَالْبِئْرُ جُبَارٌ، وَالْمَعْدِنُ جُبَارٌ، وَفِي الرِّكَازِ الْخُمُسُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If an animal harms someone, there is no compensation for it; if someone falls into a well and dies, there is no compensation for it; if a laborer dies while digging a mine, there is no compensation for it; and one-fifth will be taken from the (disbelievers') buried treasure."
