بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي دِيَةِ جِرَاحِ الْعَبْدِChapter on What is Reported Regarding Compensation for Slave Injuries
Hadith 1520B2
قَالَ مَالِك، فِي الْعَبْدِ إِذَا كُسِرَتْ يَدُهُ أَوْ رِجْلُهُ ثُمَّ صَحَّ كَسْرُهُ : فَلَيْسَ عَلَى مَنْ أَصَابَهُ شَيْءٌ، فَإِنْ أَصَابَ كَسْرَهُ ذَلِكَ نَقْصٌ أَوْ عَثَلٌ كَانَ عَلَى مَنْ أَصَابَهُ قَدْرُ مَا نَقَصَ مِنْ ثَمَنِ الْعَبْدِ .
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said that if someone breaks the hand or foot of a slave, and then it heals, there will be no compensation. However, if some damage remains, then compensation must be given for that.
