Muwatta Malik (Yahya)

Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said: In our view, the ruling is that the one who gives 'Umra will receive the 'Umra back if the recipient dies and the giver did not give it to the heirs of the recipient, but rather gave it only for the lifetime of the recipient.

Abdur Rahman bin Qasim heard from Mak’hool, who asked Qasim: What is the opinion of people regarding ‘Umra? Qasim said: I have found people fulfilling their conditions in their wealth, and whatever they used to give, they would fulfill that as well.
