بَابُ الْحُكْرَةِ وَالتَّرَبُّصِChapter on Hoarding and Waiting in Trade
Hadith 1359
وَحَدَّثَنِي، عَنْ وَحَدَّثَنِي، عَنْ مَالِك، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يُوسُفَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ مَرَّ بِحَاطِبِ بْنِ أَبِي بَلْتَعَةَ وَهُوَ يَبِيعُ زَبِيبًا لَهُ بِالسُّوقِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ : " إِمَّا أَنْ تَزِيدَ فِي السِّعْرِ، وَإِمَّا أَنْ تُرْفَعَ مِنْ سُوقِنَا "
It is narrated from Sa'id bin al-Musayyib that Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, passed by Sayyiduna Hatib bin Abi Balta'ah, may Allah be pleased with him, while he was selling grapes (raisins) in the market. Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, said: Either you increase the price or leave our market.
