بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي الْمُزَابَنَةِ وَالْمُحَاقَلَةِChapter on What is Reported Regarding Muzabana and Muhaqala Sales
Hadith 1326
حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِك، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى عَنِ الْمُزَابَنَةِ " . وَالْمُزَابَنَةُ : بَيْعُ الثَّمَرِ بِالتَّمْرِ كَيْلًا، وَبَيْعُ الْكَرْمِ بِالزَّبِيبِ كَيْلًا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade muzabana. Muzabana is when fruit on the tree, such as dates or grapes, is estimated and sold in exchange for dried dates or dried grapes.
