بَابُ الْقَضَاءِ فِي الْمُكَاتَبِChapter on legal rulings regarding the mukatab (contracted slave)
Hadith 1293
حَدَّثَنِي مَالِك، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ ، كَانَ يَقُولُ : " الْمُكَاتَبُ عَبْدٌ مَا بَقِيَ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ كِتَابَتِهِ شَيْءٌ "
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to say: The mukatab slave will remain a slave as long as anything from the price of his contract of manumission remains due.
