بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي الْإِحْدَادِWhat is Reported Regarding Mourning
Hadith 1246
وَحَدَّثَنِي، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّهُ بَلَغَهُ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، وَسُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، أَنَّهُمَا كَانَا يَقُولَانِ فِي الْمَرْأَةِ يُتَوَفَّى عَنْهَا زَوْجُهَا : " إِنَّهَا إِذَا خَشِيَتْ عَلَى بَصَرِهَا مِنْ رَمَدٍ، أَوْ شَكْوٍ أَصَابَهَا، إِنَّهَا تَكْتَحِلُ وَتَتَدَاوَى بِدَوَاءٍ أَوْ كُحْلٍ، وَإِنْ كَانَ فِيهِ طِيبٌ " . قَالَ مَالِكٌ : وَإِذَا كَانَتِ الضَّرُورَةُ، فَإِنَّ دِينَ اللَّهِ يُسْرٌ
Hazrat Salim bin Abdullah and Sulaiman bin Yasar used to say: If a woman's husband dies and she suffers from an eye ailment or any other pain, she may apply kohl and use medicine, even if it contains fragrance.
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said: When there is a need, the religion of Allah, Glorious and Exalted is He, is easy.
