بَابُ مَقَامِ الْمُتَوَفَّى عَنْهَا زَوْجُهَا فِي بَيْتِهَا حَتَّى تَحِلَّResidence of a Widow in Her House Until She is Permitted
Hadith 1228
وَحَدَّثَنِي، عَنْ وَحَدَّثَنِي، عَنْ مَالِك، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ الْمَكِّيِّ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ " كَانَ يَرُدُّ الْمُتَوَفَّى عَنْهُنَّ أَزْوَاجُهُنَّ مِنَ الْبَيْدَاءِ، يَمْنَعُهُنَّ الْحَجَّ "
It is narrated from Sa'id bin al-Musayyib that Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, used to turn back those women who were in their waiting period ('iddah) after the death of their husbands from Baida, and would not allow them to go for Hajj.
