بَابُ عِدَّةِ الْمُتَوَفَّى عَنْهَا زَوْجُهَا إِذَا كَانَتْ حَامِلًاWaiting Period for a Pregnant Woman Whose Husband Dies
Hadith 1225
وَحَدَّثَنِي، عَنْ مَالِك، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ الْمِسْوَرِ بْنِ مَخْرَمَةَ أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّ سُبَيْعَةَ الْأَسْلَمِيَّةَ نُفِسَتْ بَعْدَ وَفَاةِ زَوْجِهَا بِلَيَالٍ، فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " قَدْ حَلَلْتِ، فَانْكِحِي مَنْ شِئْتِ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Miswar bin Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyidah Subai’ah Aslamiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) gave birth to a child a few days after her husband’s death, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Now your ‘iddah has ended, you may marry whomever you wish.”
