بَابُ جَامِعِ الطَّلَاقِComprehensive Chapter on Divorce
Hadith 1215
وَحَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِك، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : بَلَغَنِي، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ ثَقِيفٍ : " أَسْلَمَ "، وَعِنْدَهُ عَشْرُ نِسْوَةٍ حِينَ أَسْلَمَ الثَّقَفِيُّ : " أَمْسِكْ مِنْهُنَّ أَرْبَعًا، وَفَارِقْ سَائِرَهُنَّ "
It is narrated from Ibn Shihab that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to a Thaqafi man who had become Muslim and had ten wives: "Keep four and leave the rest."
