حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِك، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ
ابْنَ شِهَابٍ عَنْ إِيلَاءِ الْعَبْدِ، فَقَالَ :
" هُوَ نَحْوُ إِيلَاءِ الْحُرِّ، وَهُوَ عَلَيْهِ وَاجِبٌ، وَإِيلَاءُ الْعَبْدِ شَهْرَانِ "
Imam Malik asked Ibn Shihab about the case of a slave's ila (oath of abstinence), so Ibn Shihab said that the ila of a slave is like that of a free person, except that the period for a slave is two months.
