Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say that a tailor invited the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) for a meal that he had prepared. I also went with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The tailor brought barley bread and a dish of gourd (pumpkin). I saw that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would look for pieces of gourd in the bowl and eat them. From that day, I also began to like gourd.
