Muwatta Imam Malik (Riwayat Ibn al-Qasim)

It is narrated from Ubaydullah (bin Abdullah) bin Utbah bin Mas'ud that he went to visit Sayyiduna Abu Talhah al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) when he was ill, and Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunaif (may Allah be pleased with him) was also present there. Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) called a man and then took out the sheet from under himself. Sahl bin Hunaif (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: Why did you remove it? He replied: Because it has pictures on it, and you know what the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said about this. Sahl (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Did he not say except for the designs that are on cloth? He replied: Yes, but removing this (cloth) is more preferable in my heart. The narrations of Abu al-Nadr are completed, and these are eight narrations. One of his narrations with the chain of Muhammad bin al-Munkadir has already passed regarding the plague (see ), and the other narration with the chain of Abdullah bin Yazid has already passed regarding the prayer of the one who sits (see ).
