Hadith 588
125- وبه: أن رافع بن إسحاق مولى الشفاء أخبره، قال: دخلت أنا وعبد الله بن أبى طلحة على أبى سعيد الخدري نعوده، فقال لنا أبو سعيد: أخبرنا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: ”أن الملائكة لا تدخل بيتا فيه تماثيل أو صور“، شك إسحاق لا يدري أيتهما قال أبو سعيد الخدري.
It is narrated from Rafi' bin Ishaq that he and Abdullah bin Abi Talhah went to visit Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) during his illness, and he told them that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) informed them: "Indeed, the angels (of mercy) do not enter a house in which there are statues or pictures." Ishaq was in doubt; he was not certain which of these words Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) had said.
Hadith 589
260- مالك عن نافع عن القاسم بن محمد عن عائشة أم المؤمنين أنها اشترت نمرقة فيها تصاوير. فلما رآها رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قام على الباب فلم يدخل، فعرفت فى وجهه الكراهية وقالت: يا رسول الله، أتوب إلى الله ورسوله، فماذا أذنبت؟ فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: ”ما بال هذه النمرقة؟“ قالت: اشتريتها لك تقعد عليها وتتوسدها. فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: ”إن أصحاب هذه الصور يوم القيامة يعذبون بها، يقال لهم: أحيوا ما خلقتم“، ثم قال: إن البيت الذى فيه الصور لا تدخله الملائكة.“
It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'minin Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) that she bought a small cushion-like blanket which had pictures on it. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw it, he stood at the door and did not enter inside. I saw signs of displeasure on the face of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! I turn to Allah and His Messenger, what mistake have I made? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What is this cushion (small pillow)?" I said: I bought it for you so that you may sit on it and lean against it. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Those who make these pictures will be punished on the Day of Resurrection; it will be said to them: Bring to life what you have created." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The angels (of mercy) do not enter a house in which there are pictures."
