Prohibition of selling unripe fruit
Hadith 496
151- وبه: أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم نهى عن بيع الثمار حتى تزهي. فقيل له: يا رسول الله وما تزهي؟ قال ”حين تحمر.“ وقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: أرأيت إذا منع الله الثمرة فبم يأخذ أحدكم مال أخيه؟.
And with this same chain (it is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas, may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade selling fruits before they ripen. It was asked: O Messenger of Allah! What is meant by ripening? He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Becoming red." And the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Tell me, if Allah withholds the fruit, then for what reason would you take your brother's wealth?"
Hadith 497
235- وبه: أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم نهى عن بيع الثمار حتى يبدو صلاحها، نهى البائع والمشتري.
And with the same chain of narration, it is reported from (Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade both the seller and the buyer from selling and purchasing fruits before they have ripened.
