Warning for those who let their garments hang below ankles
Hadith 416
138- وبه: عن أبيه أنه قال: سألت أبا سعيد الخدري عن الإزار فقال: أنا أخبرك بعلم، سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: ”إزرة المؤمن إلى أنصاف ساقيه، لا جناح عليه فيما بينه وبين الكعبين، ما أسفل من ذلك ففي النار“، قال ذلك ثلاث مرات ”لا ينظر الله يوم القيامة إلى من جر إزاره بطرا.“
It is narrated from Al-Ala’s father (Abdur Rahman bin Ya’qub) that I asked Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) about the lower garment (izar), so he said: I will tell you with knowledge. I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: The izar of a believer should reach to the middle of the shins; there is no harm if it is between that and the ankles, but whatever is below that is in the Fire. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said this three times: Whoever drags his izar out of pride, Allah will not look at him (with mercy) on the Day of Resurrection.
Hadith 417
165- وعن نافع وعبد الله بن دينار وزيد بن أسلم، كلهم يخبره عن عبد الله بن عمر أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: ”لا ينظر الله يوم القيامة إلى من جر ثوبه بطرا.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah will not look at the person on the Day of Resurrection who drags his garment out of arrogance."
Hadith 418
290- وبه: أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: ”الذي يجر ثوبه خيلاء لا ينظر الله إليه يوم القيامة.
And with the same chain (it is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever drags his garment out of arrogance, Allah Almighty will not look at him (with mercy) on the Day of Resurrection."
Hadith 419
358- وبه: أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: ”لا ينظر الله يوم القيامة إلى من جر إزاره بطرا.“
And with the same chain of narration, it is narrated from (Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever drags his lower garment out of pride, Allah will not look at him (with mercy) on the Day of Resurrection."
