Muwatta Imam Malik (Riwayat Ibn al-Qasim)

It is narrated with the same chain that Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and there were traces of yellow on him. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked him: (What is this?) He (Abdur Rahman bin Awf, may Allah be pleased with him) replied that he had married a woman from among the Ansar. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked: "What did you give her (as mahr)?" He replied: Gold equal to the weight of a date stone. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Give a wedding feast (walimah), even if it is with only one goat."
