Issues of Marriage
Shighar (exchange marriage) is prohibited
Hadith 355
230- وبه: أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم نهى عن الشغار. والشغار أن يزوج الرجل ابنته الرجل على أن يزوجه الرجل الآخر ابنته، ليس بينهما صداق.
And with the same chain of narration (it is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade shighar (exchange marriage). (Nafi' said:) And shighar is when a man marries his daughter to another man on the condition that the other marries his daughter to him (and) there is no dowry between them.
