Muwatta Imam Malik (Riwayat Ibn al-Qasim)

And with the same chain (it is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him) that in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), a man broke his fast (by having intercourse with his wife during the day), so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered him to free a slave, or to fast for two consecutive months, or to feed sixty needy people. He said: I am not able to do this. Then a basket of dates was brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), so he said to him: "Take this and give it as charity." He said: O Messenger of Allah! There is no one in (Medina) more in need of it than me. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) laughed until his blessed teeth became visible, then he said: "You eat it."
