And with this same chain of narration, it is narrated that (Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them, said): In the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, there was a solar eclipse, so the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, led the people in prayer. He stood for a very long time, equal to (the recitation of) Surah Al-Baqarah, then he performed a very long bowing (ruku‘), then he stood up again for a standing (qiyam) that was shorter than the first, then he performed a long bowing that was shorter than the first bowing, then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, prostrated. Then (in the second rak‘ah) he stood for a long time, which was shorter than the previous standing, then he performed a long bowing, which was shorter than the previous bowing, then when he rose from bowing, he stood for a long time, which was shorter than the previous standing, then he performed a long bowing, which was shorter than the previous bowing, then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, prostrated, then he completed the prayer with salam, and the sun had become bright. Then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, delivered a sermon to the people and said: “The sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah; they do not eclipse because of anyone’s death or life. Therefore, if you witness such a state, then remember Allah.” The people said: O Messenger of Allah! We saw that you, standing at your place, tried to grasp something, then we saw that you stepped back? The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “I saw Paradise, or Paradise was shown to me, so I intended to take a bunch from it, and if I had taken it, you would have eaten from it as long as the world remains. And I saw the Fire (of Hell), and I have never seen a more terrifying sight than that, and I saw that the majority of its inhabitants were women.” The people asked: O Messenger of Allah! Why is that? The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Because of their ingratitude.” It was asked: Do they show ingratitude to Allah? The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “They are ungrateful to their husbands, that is, they are ungrateful for kindness. If you do good to one of them for a lifetime, then she sees something (from you) that she dislikes, she will say: ‘I have never seen any good from you.’”

Hadith 182
And with this same chain (it is narrated from Sayyida Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her) that during the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, there was a solar eclipse, so the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, led the people in prayer. He stood for a long time, then bowed and made a long bowing, then stood again for a long time, and this standing was shorter than the first. Then he bowed and made a long bowing, and this bowing was less than the first. Then he raised his head from bowing and prostrated, then did the same in the second rak‘ah. When he finished with salam, the sun had become bright again. He addressed the people and, after praising and glorifying Allah, said: “The sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah; they do not eclipse because of anyone’s death or life. If you see these signs, then supplicate to Allah, say takbir, and give charity.” Then he said: O community of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! If any servant, male or female, of Allah commits adultery, then Allah is most possessive regarding it. O community of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! By Allah! If you knew what I know, you would laugh little and weep much.

Hadith 183
And with this same chain (it is narrated from Sayyida Asma bint Abi Bakr, may Allah be pleased with her) that I came to Umm al-Mu'mineen, Sayyida Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, at the time of a solar eclipse, and the people were standing and offering prayer, and she too was standing (and praying). I said: What has happened to the people? So she pointed towards the sky with her hand and said: Subhan Allah. I said: Is there a sign? She replied with a gesture (of her head): Yes! Then I too stood up until I fainted. I began to pour water over my head. Then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, praised and glorified Allah, then said: "I have seen today at this place what I had never seen before, to the extent that I saw Paradise and Hell, and it has been revealed to me that you will be tested in your graves, like the trial of Dajjal or close to it." The narrator does not know which words Sayyida Asma, may Allah be pleased with her, used. Every one of you will be brought and then asked: What do you know about this man? The believer or the one with certainty says: He is Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. He came to us with clear proofs and guidance, so we accepted, believed, and followed him. The narrator does not know whether Sayyida Asma, may Allah be pleased with her, said the word "believer" or "one with certainty." Then it is said to him: Sleep well, we knew that you were a believer. As for the hypocrite or the doubter, he says: I do not know, I used to hear people saying something, so I would say the same. The narrator does not remember whether Sayyida Asma, may Allah be pleased with her, used the word "hypocrite" or "doubter."

Hadith 184
And with the same chain of narration, it is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that a Jewish woman came to her asking for something and said: "May Allah protect you from the punishment of the grave." So Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): "Are people punished in their graves?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "I seek refuge with Allah from that." Then one morning, he mounted his riding animal, the sun was eclipsed, so he returned before noon and passed by the chambers, then stood up to pray and the people began to pray behind him. He (peace and blessings be upon him) stood for a very long time, then bowed for a very long time, then stood up again for a long time, though less than the first standing, then bowed for a long time, though less than the first bowing, then when he raised his head (from bowing), he prostrated. Then (in the second unit) he stood for a long time, though less than the previous standing, then bowed for a long time, though less than the previous bowing, then stood up for a long time, though less than the previous standing, then bowed for a long time, though less than the previous bowing, then when he raised his head (from bowing), he prostrated. Then when he finished the prayer, he mentioned what Allah willed, then instructed the people to seek refuge with Allah from the punishment of the grave.
